British Champ Set For Two Additional Tests In McDonald's Ford/Dallara

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 10, 2010) - Following British champion Ross Kaiser's impressive progress in a recent GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series test, Daytona Prototype team owner Kevin Doran has announced the Sunoco Rolex 24 At Daytona Challenge winner will join the lineup on his No. 77 McDonald's Ford/Dallara in the 49th running of the motorsports classic at Daytona International Speedway on Jan. 29-30, 2011.

Kaiser, the 2010 the Radical UK Cup champion, posted the top points average among competitors in four major British racing series to earn a funded drive in America's premier sports car race. He will have two additional tests with the team prior to the Rolex 24: Dec. 1-2 at Homestead-Miami Speedway and the Roar Before the Rolex 24 on Jan. 7-9 at Daytona International Speedway.

"Ross's speed at our test at Virginia International Raceway was really perfect for the Rolex 24," Doran said. "He was already competitive after only one day in the DP. I'm glad that it worked out that we're getting him in the McDonald's car for the Rolex 24. I think we've got a good shot at winning the race with Ross and three other top-notch guys."

Kaiser's co-drivers will be announced in the near future.

"At VIR, I got acclimatized with the new car and the surroundings - and it felt pretty good," Kaiser said. "Racing in the Rolex 24 is a dream come true. I'm looking forward to maximizing this opportunity, racing in one of the biggest events in the world - you get the broadest cover of drivers from all disciplines - it's the best of the best."

This will be Doran Racing's second year fielding a car for the Sunoco Daytona Challenge winner. Derek Johnston, the inaugural winner, finished 10th for the team this past January.

"I'm confident we'll have the same chemistry running with Ross in the upcoming tests and in the Rolex 24," Doran said. "Sunoco has put together a great program and has come up with two winning drivers."

The Sunoco Daytona Challenge is a competition among racers in four high-calibre Sunoco-fuelled race championships: the British GT Championship; the British F3 International Series; Radical UK Cup and SPEED Sports Prototype Series.
