JOEY HAND JOINS STARWORKS MOTORSPORT
Joey Hand, from Sacramento, California will co-drive the #7 Flex-Box Starworks Motorsport Dinan-BMW Riley Daytona Prototype with Bill Lester in the Bosch Engineering 250, round 4 of the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16.
Joey Hand is one of the most experienced Rolex Series drivers in the field and one of the most talented and is eager to take the #7 Flex-Box Starworks Motorsport Dinan-BMW Riley to the winner's circle this weekend.
Kasper Andersen, who is the regular driver for that car, had to be replaced at the last minute since he was not able to catch a flight on time from Denmark to participate in the VIR event. Following the Barber race Kasper returned to his native country of Denmark where he resides and despite Peter Baron's efforts to find a travel option to cross the Atlantic since he heard about the situation with the cloud that followed the eruption of the Eyjafjallajokull Volcano in Iceland, Kasper was not able to leave Denmark.
Multiple Rolex Series GT class winner Joey Hand's last experience in a Daytona Prototype was in 2008 when he co-drove all season with Bill Auberlen.
