Frisselle brothers ready for this weekend's Rolex 24 At Daytona

ALTON, Va. (January 23, 2006) -- It is considered one of the most grueling sporting events in the world--24 hours of racing around Daytona International Speedway's twisty infield and steep banking in weather conditions that can range from fridge cold to pouring rain--or both. But young brothers Burt and Brian Frisselle, of Kihei, Hawaii, do not shrink away from this arduous task; instead they are looking forward to it.

The brothers will kick-off this year's run in the Rolex Sports Car Series with the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona this weekend, piloting the No. 8 Rx.com Porsche-powered Doran Daytona Prototype of Synergy Racing. Joining the brothers for the 44th anniversary of the classic endurance race will be internationally renowned Porsche driver Patrick Huisman, of The Netherlands.

Although this weekend marks only the second run in the Rolex 24 for both brothers, they entered this year's race with a tremendous amount of confidence in comparison to last year's rookie run.

"I'm 100 times more confident going into this year's race," said elder brother Burt. "You learn so much in that first race. Everything was brand new last year. Now we know how to pace. We know how the leaders will run the race."

"I have a ton more confidence compared to last year," Brian echoed. "It's a 24-hour race and so much goes on that I know I'll see something new, but having a full understanding of what you're going into is definitely a confidence booster."

At only 24 and 22 years old, Burt and Brian are the youngest driver pairing in the Rolex Sports Cars Series' premier Daytona Prototype class, where they will compete against some of the biggest names in motorsports during this weekend's race such as Tony Stewart, Rusty Wallace, Paul Tracy, Danica Patrick and Bobby Labonte. But you will not find Burt and Brian star struck by the all-star line-up they will compete against this weekend. When the green flag drops, impressive resumes and endorsement deals fade away in the battle between drivers, their machines and the clock.

Last year, the Frisselle brothers made it until the 22nd hour of the race but were forced to retire their Rx.com Daytona Prototype after 523 laps when the gearbox broke. This year, they enter the race with a new engine package, switching to a Porsche powerplant during the off-season.

"We just got back from a seat fitting, and I have to say the car looks like it's in its best condition ever. We're very happy with the new Porsche engine, and we can't wait to get it on track later this week," Brian remarked.

Practice for the Rolex 24 At Daytona will begin on Thursday morning, with first-round qualifying taking place on Thursday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway. Additional practice sessions and second-round qualifying will take place on Friday. The Rolex 24 will start at noon on Saturday and conclude 24 hours later at noon on Sunday. Portions of the race, including the start and finish, will be broadcast live on SPEED.

About Synergy Racing
Team owners Cole Scrogham and Danny and Steve Marshall introduced Synergy Racing in December 2004. Based at Virginia International Raceway, Synergy Racing is an evolution of G&W Motorsports, which had catered to Porsche racing since 1996 and became the most successful team in the Rolex Sports Car Series with three team championships and four driver champions, 15 class wins and more than 50 podium finishes. The team underwent a major transformation that included a name and logo change, as well as a complete restructuring into a customer-based championship racing business, which concentrates on the needs of the customer rather than the desires of the team.
