CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Team i-MOTO Mazda the 2012 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Street Tuner Champions are very happy to announce the signing of the Mathew and Mark Pombo for the 2013 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series!
Two years ago, the Pombo brothers rocked the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series with a very successfully rookie season driving for Team i-MOTO Mazda. Those successes lead to a factory ride in 2011 with the factory KIA program.
Team owner Glenn Bocchino commented about the signing, “Words cannot express my excitement about the Pombo brothers reuniting with Team i-MOTO Mazda in 2013, Now as veteran drivers, our team will be stronger than it’s ever been!”
“The Pombo’s bring more than just driving talent to the team; they bring leadership and a strong family heritage of racing.”
Mark Pombo, will begin the season as a test driver and later rejoin the team as a full-time pro driver.
Mathew Pombo will be a full-time pro driver; piloting one of i-MOTO Mazdaspeed 3’s to defend the 2012 Driver and Team championship.
Mathew Pombo commented, "For Mark and I racing is a family endeavor, and to be back racing with our i-MOTO family is something we are very, very excited about.
The members of this team mean the world to us and they have proven that they can compete every weekend.
After the bad luck we had last year with Mark's accident it is already a winning season to hopefully have him back running with me at some point this year.
I have to thank Glenn for working so hard at putting this deal together and I cannot wait to get to Daytona and get the 2013 season under way."
Come visit the team at the Daytona International Speedway January 4th - 6th 2013 at the annual Roar Before the Rolex 24 test week.
