Frisselles up to speed on home track
Alton, VA (6 October 2005)-- Burt and Brian Frisselle got warmed up on Thursday as they took part in the promoter test day in advance of Sunday's VIR 400 for round thirteen of the Rolex Sports Car Series in their RX.Com BMW/Doran. The event is a home race for the Synergy Racing team, and the two were feeling right at home themselves on Thursday as they got up to speed quickly during the three on-track sessions.
"The car is pretty good," enthused Brian. "It's clear that traffic is going to be a big issue this weekend, and I think that might play into our hands because the car can really make the most of even the smallest opportunities and pass. Hopefully we can keep improving and be in a good position come Sunday."
Burt, who raced at this track last season in his rookie Rolex campaign, which saw him take two podium finishes, is excited to be racing on his team's home track and will be looking to translate that into an advantage in the race.
"Everyone on this team is keyed up for this race," said Burt. "We have a lot of guests here this weekend and a lot of family visiting, so that adds to the excitement for everybody. We made some progress with the car today, but I think there are still some parts of the track where we can gain some more speed, but overall we are moving in the right direction and we got a good bit of track time in."
There will be two practice sessions on Friday before Saturday's qualifying session. The race will be broadcast live on Speed Channel beginning at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday.
