GTS Racing Gets Back Into Action at Watkins Glen

GTS Racing with Mitchum Motorsports hits the track for the famed Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen this weekend after a brief layoff from the Rolex Grand American Road Racing Series. This layoff wasn't a vacation for the #74 Porsche GT3 Cup team, having performed a successful test session at Carolina Motorsports Park with development driver Anthony Lazzaro and team newcomer Jim Michaelian of Seal Beach, CA. The team learned a great deal about their equipment as well as their new pilot on the day, and Michaelian came away from the test session with a great deal of respect for the organization which is sparing no resource in putting their best foot forward in this ultra competitive world class series.

Going into the weekend ahead, Michaelian states; "I'm delighted to have the opportunity to drive with the GTS Racing team at Watkins Glen. We had a very successful test at Carolina Motorsports Park and the team demonstrated their strong commitment to run a first-class operation and we are looking to perform well on the historic road circuit at the Glen. Hopefully this will lead to further opportunities for me to run with the team in future Grand Am events." For the event Michaelian will be joined by team partner and sportscar veteran Bransen Patch along with young hot shoe Andy Brumbaugh of Columbia, SC.

GTS Racing with Mitchum Motorsports is utilizing the 2008 racing season to develop the team towards running a full on effort for the 2009 racing season which will have many exciting elements coming to light for the new team, only one of which will be to open the season as a multi-car team. The team is making the most of its resources to implement new and exciting marketing tools that will keep the fans as well as their marketing partners on the edge of their seats. Stay tuned for more information as the team strives on through the 2008 racing season.
