Dyson, Lally Team for Crown Royal 200 at The Glen

#16 Thetford / Norcold Porsche Crawford set for sprint event

The track is the same, but the drivers have changed as Howard Motorsports brings their #16 Thetford / Norcold Team to Watkins Glen International for the Crown Royal 200 at The Glen on Friday afternoon, August 10th. The Watkins Glen "short course" a 2.45-mile, 11-turn circuit, will test the best in the Grand Am Rolex Series for 200 miles or two hours this week. However, the driver roster for the #16 Thetford / Norcold Porsche Crawford will be different from the trio who raced in the Six Hours of The Glen earlier this season.

Rob Dyson will be joined by Andy Lally in their Porsche Crawford for the "sprint race" at Watkins Glen. It will mark the first Grand-Am Rolex Series Daytona Prototype start for Lally in 2007; however, he is not a stranger to Dyson Racing. Lally teamed with Andy Wallace and Butch Leitzinger in the Dyson Racing Porsche P2 car for the Sebring 12 Hour race in March.

Lally currently races in the Rolex Series GT Class, and leads the series in wins with five. His victories have come at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Iowa Speedway, Watkins Glen, and last week at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. He stands second in GT Series points, trailing the leader by only five points. Since the Royal Crown 200 at The Glen is a DP Class only event, Lally was able to team with Rob Dyson this week.

"I'm extremely delighted to have this opportunity to team with Rob Dyson and Howard Motorsports at Watkins Glen," Lally commented. "To race with Rob is truly an honor, and Howard Motorsports has proven that they can win races in the competitive Rolex Series. I'm really looking forward to this event."

Veteran road racer Rob Dyson, who will be without regular teammate son Chris this weekend, has a long and storied career at Watkins Glen International. The younger Dyson will be competing at Road American in the ALMS Porsche P2 Class. Dyson Racing has numerous wins at the historic track, the last coming in August, 2002 with Butch Leitzinger in the SRP Class event. His teams have held the race record speeds on both the short and long course at Watkins Glen.

"Rob Dyson is one of my favorite people," Rick Howard, President of Howard Motorsports, commented. "Therefore, I'm excited anytime we race with him. This week, I'm doubly excited because we have Andy Lally teaming with Rob. I've followed Andy's career, and he has won in whatever he drives. Everyone at Howard Motorsports is excited to have Andy in our Porsche Crawford at Watkins Glen."

The Crown Royal 200 at The Glen is set for a 6:30 p.m. ET start on Friday, August 10th. Qualifying is scheduled for Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET. SPEED TV will provide tape-delayed coverage of the event beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET on Friday, August 10th. The Crown Royal 200 will be the sixth and final scheduled Rolex Series race for the #16 Thetford / Norcold Team from Howard Motorsports for the 2007 season.
