Jason Workman Drafted for Driving Duties at Watkins Glen

Atlanta, GA, June 7, 2007: Jason Workman is finding that his growing reputation as a driver that can be called upon to race fast and reliably is providing him with impressive opportunities. For the fourth time this season, Workman's phone rang, this time with an offer to fill in at the last moment in the Rolex Sports Car Series Presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve Grand-Am GT race at Watkins Glen. It was Matt Connolly Motorsports (MCM) inviting Workman to co-drive the number #24 BMW M3 for the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen on June 8-9. At the Grand-Am Classic at Lime Rock Park on May 28, in yet another last minute offer, Workman was put to good use by MCM driving the team's Pontiac GTO. Despite a disappointing finishing position, Workman was pleased to be driving the exciting Pontiac GTO. At the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen, Workman will return to driving duties in the BMW M3.

"It's great to get this opportunity," said Workman. "I appreciate Matt's confidence and it is exciting to get back behind the wheel of the BiltBest Windows & Doors BMW. I drove this car at Daytona in February. Watkins Glen is one of my favorite tracks. It's fun and fast, with some hard braking areas where I'll get a great chance to put the ABS brakes to full use. I look forward to the reliability of the well-sorted BMW M3 to give us six hours of hard-charging racing. BMW handling and BMW reliability is a potent combination for this race."

Workman's co driver will be Jim Michaelian from Long Beach, California. MCM teammate car, the #21 Pontiac GTO.R will be driven by team owner, Matt Connolly and Hal Prewitt.

With his race-to-race last minute schedule, Workman has managed to score 16 points in the Grand Am GT championship standings while driving a variety of entries. In 2007, Workman has been behind the wheel of a Ford Mustang, BMW, Pontiac and Porsche. It's an impressive array of differing racecars and handling characteristics but Workman relishes the challenge. "They're all fast and fun cars to race," said Workman. "I think that all this variety will make me a better and more seasoned driver."
