TRG to Race Two Porsches in Six Hours of The Glen

Petaluma, Ca. (June 2, 2006) - Much of The Racer's Group's success in 2006 has focused around the success of the factory-backed Pontiac GTO.R program. However, TRG is reaching back to it's roots for the high-profile six hour endurance test at Watkins Glen this weekend, and entering two Porsche machines into the competition.

From 1994 to 2005, The Racer's Group drove Porsches exclusively on the track. Despite the Pontiac program, Porsche racing is still the heart and soul of TRG. Owner Kevin Buckler is "very excited to have two Porsches in the TRG camp this weekend. We have a long racing history at Watkins Glen and being able to have my friends in the cars will make the weekend even better. Jim Pace and Jim Lowe are extremely committed with our program through the 2007 season, and so far, have been very competitive in the 66 car. Mike Solley, Bohdan Kroczek and Murray Marden will be together in the 67 for the first time. The hardest part of the experience this weekend will be getting the smiles off their faces. They are all walking around like twelve-year-olds at Christmas! All these drivers are smart and know the plan, and we all hope to put together an error-free race."

The two Porsches at Watkins Glen will be the #66 Bernie Robbins Jewelers/TRG Porsche 997 GT3, driven by Lowe and Pace, and the #67 Solley Motorsports/TRG driven by Solley, Kroczek and Marden. Together with the #64 iRise/TRG and #65 F1 Air/TRG Pontiac GTO.R's, The Racer's Group will surely have an exciting weekend of racing at Watkins Glen.

The 2006 Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen will be televised live on SPEED TV, Saturday, June 3 at 2:30pm EST (11:30am PST).
