Jason Workman joins ASC Motorsports for Homestead Grand Am Race

Tiffin, Oh February 21, 2005 ASC Motorsports is pleased to announce that Jason Workman of Atlanta, Georgia has agreed to co-drive the team's Corvette C5R at the Homestead-Miami round of the Rolex Grand American series 3-5 March.

Team owner Zach Arnold made the announcement at the team's Arnold Machine, Inc. headquarters in Tiffin. Arnold described the joint venture saying, "Jason Workman brings an exceptional level of talent and experience to the team. He's a driver who knows how to win, and he knows how to finish a race. We're excited to have Jason on the team."

Workman began his racing career in European indoor karting and soon moved to open-wheel formula cars. At the Skip Barber Formula Dodge Racing Series in 1996, he earned 2 podiums and a win in his first 6 events. In the same year, he captured the SCCA-SARRC Formula Continental Championship with 4 wins and 7 podiums while competing in only half the races. After racing for a year in Europe's EFDA Formula Opel Championship, he returned to the U.S. taking 2 wins in 4 events in the 1998 National Formula Ford 2000 Championship.

In 1999, Workman returned to Europe where he competed in the Nordic Formula Ford 2000 Championship. Garnering 8 wins, 10 poles, and 4 track records, he became one of the few Americans to win a European championship. He spent two seasons in the Euro Cup and Nordic Formula Renault series, then shifted his focus back to the U.S. and the American Le Mans Series. In the LMP675 class, he finished second two years in a row at Road Atlanta's Petit Le Mans. Then, in a full season driving a Lola-Nissan for Essex Racing in 2003, he had five podium finishes on his way to the third place trophy in the LMP675 Drivers Championship.

Arnold Machine, which designed and built the GT class Corvette C5R, has been diligently working on the race car and making improvements to get it ready for Homestead, applying the lessons learned from the team's maiden race in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.
