Sebastian Asch and Luca Ludwig won the 2015 ADAC GT Masters title as the fight for the drivers’ crown went down to the wire at Hockenheim.

A fifth place in Sunday’s second race on a wet track was enough to earn the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 duo the first place in the overall standings.
Asch is GT Masters champion for the second time after 2012 and the only driver to win the title more than once.
But it was a victory Asch and Ludwig had to fight hard for: after the former collided with Porsche driver Christian Engelhart in Saturday’s race one, the duo were demoted to the back of the grid for the final race of the season.
“That was annoying. However, we couldn’t do more than give our best today and it worked,” said Asch.
“It was a nail-biting event,” Ludwig added. “But ever since Zandvoort we were spot-on. Above all, this is a victory for the whole team.”
It’s also a triumph the champions’ fathers are very proud of, especially since Roland Asch and Klaus Ludwig used to race in DTM together during the golden era of the series in the 1990s.
“25 years ago Klaus and I were driving for Zakspeed. Now our boys have won a title with the same team. For sure, this is something unique,” said Asch Sr. while Ludwig Sr. admitted the success of their sons was “very emotional” for the fathers.
