After leading the first three laps, Lamborghini driver Wood spent the majority of the first stint sitting behind the Porsche of points leader Liam Talbot, with the Audi of Duvashen Padayachee right on his tail.
But the compulsory stops were kind to Wood, a shorter penalty time helping him jump Talbot and emerge with a healthy lead. From there, it became all about staving off the pros that had taken over for the second stint.
The biggest threat came from Ash Walsh, who, having taken over from Padayachee, was making big inroads on Wood’s lead after barging his way past Talbot with 13 minutes to go.
That forceful move on Talbot proved costly, though, Walsh slapped with a drive-through and taken out of contention.
That left van der Linde as Wood’s biggest threat, the Audi factory driver taking big chunks out of Wood’s seven second lead inside the last 10 minutes of the race.
But the South African couldn’t quite get there, Wood hanging on to win by two seconds.
Van der Linde had to settle for second for him and Geoff Emery, while Talbot recovered from being shoved wide by Walsh to finish third.
Ash Samadi profited from a short stop time to finish fourth, with Walsh fifth after serving the penalty.
