Wilton, CT- Sanchez Motorsports today announced their commitment to compete in the American GT Challenge Series for 2004. The team will enter the number 8 Banana Boat/Wet Ones Camaro for team owner and driver Frank Sanchez of Felton, Delaware and a second car for a yet to be announced high-profile driver.

Sanchez Motorsports has been active in road racing for over thirty years. The team has had success in sports cars, NASCAR, Indy-type cars and prototype racing. In recent years, Frank has concentrated his efforts in GT Road Racing and is excited about partnering with the American GT Challenge Series. He is hopeful that participating in this series will bring his race team to an even greater level of achievement.

Frank expressed eagerness to get the 2004 season underway, "We are very excited about the American GT Challenge race concept. Having raced for many years with many sanctioning bodies, the American GT rules are cost effective and level the playing field. This will mean close competition and full grids, bringing a premier spectator show to road racing starved audiences."

Said Sanchez of the American GT Challenge's efforts to date. "What did they say? 'If you build it they will come', I believe Woodson has built it."

Banana Boat is the #2 Suncare brand in the category and is the leader in several sun care segments. As a category leader it has achieved many firsts including the newly introduced "SURF" product line. For more information on Banana Boat and the entire line of products, visit www.bananaboat.com. The American GT Challenge will open its inaugural season at South Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina April 10 through 11th. The American GT Challenge uses purpose built tube frame chassis cars, power by a V-8 & V-6 engine, with composite bodies, replicating series produced American touring or grand touring cars.
