Charlotte, NC (June 16, 2004) -- Charlotte-based racing team Paradigm Autosports has announced its intention to compete in the American GT Challenge event at Pocono Raceway on June 19. Driver Gene "Geno" Tataryn will pilot the number 1 Paradigm Autosports Chevy Camaro.
A graduate of the Derek Daly Academy, Tataryn has been active in road racing since 2000, competing in the South Atlantic Road Racing Championship, the Skip Barber Race Series, and SCCA National and Regional races.. In 2002 Paradigm Racing was formed with industry professionals and an ex Charlie Webster Camaro was purchased. In only Paradigm's second outing Tataryn and the Camaro took a SCCA regional class win at Sebring International Raceway.
"The American GT Challenge presents a great opportunity for me to make my Pro debut and cut my teeth with the best racers in the Americas. I feel confident that with the equitable rules package of the AGT our Camaro can have a strong run, " said Tataryn
Tataryn has also had an extensive career working behind the scenes in racing. As a development engineer for Dale Earnhardt, Inc., he has been instrumental in over 20 wins, including three coveted Daytona 500 victories.
