SRT SCORES PODIUM IN FINAL FFSA GT1

LEDENON, FRANCE. The final FFSA GT-weekend of the season in Ledenon turned out to be an exceptional one. As with all other GT1 teams SRT closed off the era of these beautiful GT1 power beasts in style. The occasional SRT drivers duo Ange Barde and Eric Cayrolle brought the Merchtem based team's Corvette C6.R up into a fourth and third place, a third podium for Eric Cayrolle in four races with SRT. And on this note SRT provisionally closes off more than 5 years of French GT, and all that remains for Patrick Selleslagh's team this season is the major FIA GT final round at Zolder in one week's time. In this final round the Frenchman James Ruffier teamed up with the Belgian Bert Longin will be battling it out for their third place in the FIA GT championship.

In previous years the GT1s in France provided an excellent championship and one of the main contenders in the FFSA GT was without a doubt SRT. The team competed there with a list of fast drivers. "Christophe Bouchut, Soheil Ayari, Marc Goossens, Bruno Hernandez, Yvan Lebon, Eric Cayrolle, Laurent Cazenave, Marcel Fassler and quite a few other drivers all drove for us, resulting in a whole series of victories, podium places and pole positions. I'm especially pleased and proud to have made such an important contribution here in France", Patrick Selleslagh commented.

And SRT closed off the era of the powerful GT1s in a highly worthy manner. "Both Ange Barde and Eric Cayrolle are great individuals to work with. Had it not been for a flat tyre on Saturday we would have clinched two podium places as opposed to one, but I'm not going to give it another thought. The most important is that we performed well here, a continuation of what Eric and the young Richelmi did in Paul Ricard with one win and a second place. Great to be able to finish off in this way."

SRT is now leaving Ledenon in southern France and heading up to Zolder for the final FIA GT race ever, prior to the new FIA GT1 World Championship taking off in 2010.

"Another historic weekend, and in FIA GT we're also running up front, as proven by our present third place in the championship, which I absolutely want to retain. But that's a story for next weekend!"
