Ginetta to cover EU-GT4 entry fee

GINETTA TO PROVIDE FREE EUROPEAN GT4 ENTRIES FOR 2011 CONTENDERS

Ginetta today unveils an incredible incentive for GT contenders, by announcing that it will provide free European GT4 entries for a host of 2011 teams who are set to take on the series in a Ginetta G50.

Boss Lawrence Tomlinson, has confirmed that Ginetta will pay for the first six G50 entries into this season's championship, by reimbursing any team that has entered or wishes to enter the SRO-based series.

The Ginetta G50 was quick to stamp its mark on the European GT4 Cup -- winning the title outright in 2009 at the hands of driver Joe Osbourne; the marque also came an impressive third overall in 2010, with Matt Nicoll-Jones at the helm of his IMS-run Ginetta G50.

Last year, Ginetta chose the GT4 Cup to debut its left-hand drive G50, with drivers Frank Wrathall and Carl Breeze, showcasing the first ever model at Germany's Nurburgring at rounds 7 & 8 of the series.

Tomlinson said: "Since its launch in 2008, the Ginetta G50 has dominated the global GT4 scene. The European GT4 Cup is the pinnacle of worldwide GT4 racing and we are keen to support teams in 2011, having only narrowly missed out on the 2010 championship. We will reimburse the first six teams or drivers who enters the Cup, ideally by stores credit."

Claude Surmont for SRO added: "With more and more manufacturers involved in GT4 racing SRO welcomes this new approach by Ginetta Cars. We are confident that this will motivate more Ginetta teams to enter the 2011 GT4 Cup which will again be a very great championship."
