IMOLA, PREVIEW: MICHELA CERRUTI WILL HAVE HOT WEATHER AS A FURTHER OPPONENT

01/07/2010 - Michela Cerruti will be on track this weekend at Imola for the fourth round of the Italian GT 2010 Championship.

The driver from Milan already raced this year at Imola in occasion of the second round of the Superstars Series last April whereby she was protagonist of a good recovery that took her close to the top ten.

Michela, together with her crew-mate Francesca Linossi, got points in two of the three events run so far and finished on the podium at Vallelunga. More than funded are therefore expectations for a good result in a weekend that represents the turning point of the season.

The circuit entitled to Enzo and Dino Ferrari is located in the town of Imola and it is universally known as Imola's circuit. It is 4.930 meters long and is one of the few counterclockwise tracks.

It was devised at the end of 40s to revitalize the depressed post-war economy of the zone: the laying of the first stone was done on the 22 March 1950 and a first test was done on the 19 October of the same year. Motor racing made its official debut at Imola in 1954m while in 1963 the circuit housed the first Formula One race; in 1970 the circuit was named after Dino Ferrari, son of Enzo prematurely passed away in 50s.

Michela Cerruti:
"The racing weekend at Magione was conditioned by two unfavourable episodes but these are things that happen on track. At Imola the hot weather will require quite some physical strenght and it will be difficult to keep the concentration always high: generally I suffer high temperatures and for this reason I tried to prepare at best. Anyway, I should have already paid the dues to the bad luck therefore I am hopeful to score a good result".
