VAN NIMAN NAMED SCCA PRO RACING/USRRC PRESIDENT AND CEO; GREENWOOD, WILSON AND CLAGETT ASSIGNED NEW POSITIONS AS PRO RACING AND THE USRRC ARE RESTRUCTURED

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (March 2, 1998)—SCCA Pro Racing and the United States Road Racing Championship have reorganized the structure of its senior management, naming K.C. Van Niman President and Chief Executive Officer for both SCCA Pro Racing and the USRRC.

Van Niman, 65, accepted the position after serving as interim president since December, 1997.

"Accepting this position was an easy decision," said Van Niman. "I have long been involved with the SCCA and SCCA Pro Racing, and I look forward to the opportunity to shape the future of the most prestigious road racing series in North America."

Van Niman has been involved with the SCCA since 1960, and served as Chairman of the Board, SCCA, Inc., from 1988 - '90, as Cincinnati Region representative on the SCCA Board of Directors from 1984 - '90, as the Toyota/Atlantic Championship's Chief Steward from 1993 - '98 and Chief Steward for the Rolex 24 At Daytona in 1997 and '98.

In addition to his SCCA experience, Van Niman also has an extensive background in business, working as an executive for Procter & Gamble, a Fortune 50 company, from 1956 - '98, where he continues to serve as consultant.

As part of the reorganization, Dan Greenwood has been assigned as Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for SCCA Pro Racing and the USRRC. Greenwood will be responsible for the organization's administrative functions, including licensing, finance and overall operations.

Alan Wilson will continue his efforts with the USRRC, and has been named USRRC Event Coordinator, overseeing all USRRC event operations.

John Clagett, who has served as SCCA Pro Racing Vice President, Communications, since 1989, has been named Vice President, Communications and Marketing Services for SCCA Pro Racing and the USRRC. Clagett will oversee all communications and marketing services for both SCCA Pro Racing and the USRRC.

The selection process for a NTB Trans-Am Series General Manager is in its final stages. A final decision on placement for this position is expected by the April 5 NTB Trans-Am Series season-opener at Long Beach.
