I.S.R. Racing is pleased to announce that will contest the Total 24 Hours of Spa 2016 with Audi works driver Edoardo Mortara (SWI), at the wheel of number 75 Audi R8 LMS alongside team's regular drivers Marlon Stockinger (PHL) and Filip Salaquarda (CZ).
Mortara, 29 years, is currently competing in DTM, where he is fighting for the title behind the wheel of an Audi RS5 DTM. He has been successfully competing on the Audi R8 LMS since 2011, claiming several victories all around the world, from Macau to the United States. Mortara's CV on single seater is remarkable as well and features the victory of the 2010 Formula 3 Euroseries title, two wins at the Macau Grand Prix and a testing role for the Lotus F1 Team in 2011.
Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal): "It is a pleasure to welcome a champion of the likes of Edoardo Mortara at I.S.R. racing. His incredible speed, talent and experience in endurance races like the 24 Hours of Nürburgring will be really helpful for the team and, particularly, for our Audi R8 LMS n.75. We already got to know each other in occasion of the pre-race testing in Spa, yesterday, while preparing the most important race of our season".
Edoardo Mortara: "I am really happy on going to Spa, one of my favourite tracks, for the amazing 24 Hours with I.S.R racing. I am delighted to be back at the wheel of the Audi R8 LMS. It is a fantastic car on every race track, no matter if it is in the Ardennes, at Nürburgring or in Macau, where I led this masterpiece of technology to the victory several times. The 24 Hours of Spa is certainly one of the most exciting races in the world. It is full of difficulties but also charm, a very different driving experience from the races I am used to in DTM. This is certainly going to be an exciting challenge and I cannot wait to start pre-race testing".
