Nicky Pastorelli and co-driver Thomas Jäger qualified 8th in their #37 All-Inkl.com Münnich motorsport team Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 on Saturday morning. It was the best they could do as they picked up a puncture during the 3rd qualifying session. But they drove a very good Qualifying race in which they finished 4th, just behind their teammates Marc Basseng en Markus Winkelhock who finished third.

During the start of the Championship race the #37 car with Nicky at the wheel got hit on both sides and picked up some serious damage. The car lost a splitter so downforce was gone and for Nicky and Thomas it became a matter of just finishing the race. More than 8th place was just not possible with a car with this kind of damage. Teammates Basseng and Winkelhock finished second in the Championship Race.

The All-Inkl.com Münnich Motorsport team is leading the GT1 World Championship for Teams while Nicky and Thomas are currently 4th in the GT1 World Championship for Drivers.

Nicky Pastorelli: “The car was realy good this weekend. Even the speed. I realy enjoyed myself till just after the start of the Championship Race. What a totally unnecessary way to drive at the start of a race. I got hit from two sides and the car sustained such damage that the only thing I could do was just to keep the car on the track, hope for the best and finish the race. What a way to end a perfectly good race weekend.”

Next race:
Moscow, Russia, 1 and 2 September 2012
