Boys from Brazil lead the way in Free Practice

Local boys Enrique Bernoldi and Xandi Negrao in the Vitaphone Maserati No.2 topped the timesheets in Free Practice at Interlagos.

The pair set a fastest lap time of 1:33.046. Second was the fellow-Brazilian pairing of Daniel Serra and Francisco Longon in the No.34 Triple H Team Hegersport Maserati with a time of 1:33.148.

The Nissan GT-R No.23 of Peter Dumbreck and Michael Krumm was third in 1:33.516. Fourth was the early pace setter, the No.11 Mad-Croc Corvette of GT1 newcomer Sergio Jimenez and Claudio Dahruj.

The teams concentrated on base set-ups mostly on old tyres ahead of this afternoon's Pre-Qualifying.

Weather conditions remained overcast and humid throughout with the threat of rain ever-present.
