A podium place slips away for the third time
Le Castellet (F), 4 October 09 After a fighting comeback, the Italian finished in fourth at Paul Ricard. The event was the penultimate round of the ever more competitive and hard fought FIA GT-1 series.
"I really wanted to finish on the podium in this race, especially to pay back Team Luc Alphand Aventures for all they did after all the materials, including the car, were burnt on the truck on the way home from Budapest. We lost a bit of time early on as the start was not the best" says Thomas.
In my second stint I really pushed hard to try to catch the third placed Team SRT Corvette but I couldn't quite reach it. The second fastest lap set ten minutes from the end just goes to show this. I suffered over the closing laps with a power steering problem but I managed to keep going without making any mistakes thanks to the training I have been putting in. Now we have to go for it in the last round to make sure that Xavier Maassen secures third place in the championship."
