A weekend to forget about in Pergusa.

The Sicilian race track in Pergusa did not bring much luck to team- mates Piccini and Deletraz . The third race of the international FIA GT championship proved to be quite a challenge for Andrea Piccini who had to deal with numerous technical problems that prevented him and his team-mate Deletraz from doing their best.

Andrea who was fourteenth on the starting grid, fought his way through the race with a slow and difficult car to handle. Despite these inconveniences, the Tuscan driver was able to finish the race in fifth place.

Andrea Piccini

"This weekend in Sicily needs to be forgotten. Right from the first kilometres that I ran on Friday, I realized the car was anomalous. When we finished the free practice session, the car stalled and this forced us to compete during the qualifications with a new engine that still had to be broken in.

"Moreover, the car started having some problems which came up during the race as well. In particular, for the whole weekend, the speed of the car was inferior to that of the other GTs and the other two Listers by quite a few Km/h. The lack of speed proved to be a problem that was insurmountable on this fast and oval racetrack that has a few chicanes.

"In addition, during race the car's acceleration wasn't reacting very well and this prevented me from going faster when I was exiting the chicanes. These problems, along with the other technical inconveniences did not permit us to inherit anything other than the fifth place. Considering the circumstances, this shouldn't be disregarded.

"We shouldn't lose confidence. Together with the team, we will try to figure out what went wrong and will try to be even more competitive for the next race in Brno."
