St. Ingbert - Rowe Racing is looking to bounce back from two disappointing weekends in Monza and at the Nürburgring. The outing in the Blancpain GT Series Spring Cup at the iconic British circuit of Brands Hatch this weekend (7th/8th May) represents the first of two home races for regular Rowe Racing driver and BMW works driver Alexander Sims from Great Britain. One week later, Sims will be back in action in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup in Silverstone, in front of English crowds who are renowned for being as knowledgeable about motor racing as they are passionate.

As usual, Alexander Sims will share the cockpit of the #99 BMW M6 GT3 with BMW works driver Philipp Eng (Austria) at Brands Hatch. At the first sprint weekend of the Blancpain GT Series which took place in Misano at the start of April, the pair first finished runner-up in the qualification race before coming home third in the main race. They are keen to back these results up, having failed to finish the recent races in Monza and at the Nürburgring due to a technical issue and a crash.

The team from St. Ingbert welcomes a new face at the wheel of the #98 car at Brands Hatch. BMW Motorsport Junior Jesse Krohn from Finland, who is otherwise racing in the ADAC GT Masters this year, is set for his race debut in Rowe Racing colours. He will share the cockpit with Dutchman Stef Dusseldorp at the 3.703-kilometre circuit in Kent, about 35 kilometres south-east of London. The one-hour race gets underway at 17:20 German time (16:20 local time) on Sunday.

Rowe Racing team principal Hans-Peter Naundorf: “As the last two races did not turn out as we had hoped, we are looking for a return to the kind of results we enjoyed at the start of the season in Brands Hatch, ideally with a good finish in the points. We are looking forward to working with BMW Motorsport Junior Jesse Krohn for the first time. We have heard many good things about him so far.

For Alexander Sims, the race at Brands Hatch is the first of two home outings in one week. He knows the track very well and, like many of his colleagues, really enjoys driving there. With its fast corners, the circuit is very demanding for the cars and drivers, with little room for mistakes. The atmosphere at Brands Hatch is very special, as the fans get very close to the track and even camp within sight of the track. The English crowds are very interested and enthusiastic.”
