Mad-Croc Racing in FIA GT1 World Championship and European GT3 Championship

Mad-Croc Racing competes for the most prestigious Trophy in GT racing

SILVERSTONE - UK. The Tourist Trophy is probably the most prestigious GT Trophy in the world. Since 1905 the most important racing drivers from all over the world try to put their names on the list of honour. Mad-Croc Racing wouldn't be Mad-Croc Racing if the team would not be on the front row to conquer the Trophy. Xavier Maassen and new-comer Nicolas Armindo in the #11 Mad Croc Racing Corvette C6.R and Corvette factory driver Oliver Gavin and Finland's GT legend Pertti Kuismanen in the #12 Mad Croc Racing Corvette C6.R are defending the team's chances in Silverstone. During the same weekend, the very strong European FIA GT3 Championship had its first meeting of the year. The Mad-Croc colors are as well represented: Mikko Eskelinen and Christoffer Nygaard will drive a marvelous and legendary Ford GT in this highly competitive series.

FIA GT1 World Championship

Some weekends are not how a racing team wants them to be... Both Mad-Croc Corvettes GT1 started from the 9th row for the Championship Race on Sunday and proved yet again to be very competitive. Both Xavier Maassen in the #11 Corvette and Oliver Gavin in the #12 Corvette took a very strong start in the 60-minute Championship Race and made their way to the top-10. The opening stages of the race looked very promising, but other competitors hit out both cars before the chequered flag.

Nicolas Armindo (#11 Mad-Croc Corvette): "Xavier Maassen did a very good job and after the mandatory pit stop we were fighting for 6th and 7th position when another driver hit me and I went off. I could make it back on the track and finished in 11th, but this is a disappointment. Our car was good and we could have scored points without this incident."

Oliver Gavin (#12 Mad-Croc Corvette): "The same happened to me and we lost even more time. Pertti did very good job and still finished in 16th, but for us this should have been a much better race. Like our team mates, we are also very disappointed."

European GT3 Championship

After a promising 14th place in the race on Saturday, Mikko Eskelinen and Christoffer Nygaard were in competition for the overall podium in Sunday's race. Finally the Mad-Croc Ford GT finished 6th overall, scoring the first points in the European Championship.
