A month after the fifth round in Donington, the FIA GT Championship will be heading for Belgium for a tough and enthralling race: the 24 hours of SPA.

The Belgium track is nearly 7 kilometres long and is famous for its legendary corners like Raidillon and Eau Rouge. Located 15 Km from the town of Spa, this track is characterized by its variable climate due to the Ardennes Forest that surrounds the track.

This is a very important event for Andrea Piccini who will be racing with three new team-mates: Gabriele Lancieri, David Sterckx and Gavin Pickering.

Andrea Piccini

"After July 8th's test session on this very track to prepare for the 24 hours of Spa, I can say that I'm looking forward to getting on that circuit. Last year's experience of the 24 hour race with Scuderia Italia's Ferrari is useless. In fact, I wasn't able to compete in the race because the car broke down before my turn. I hope that things will go differently this year. The car during the tests seems reliable and the team is 100% motivated. I'll have three new team-mates by my side: I know Gabriele Lancieri well and I think that this will be a fascinating experience for him. Unfortunately he is the only driver who has never driven driven a car like this before and so he'll get a lot more time with the car during the free practice session on Thursday. I have to get used to driving at night as well. During the race we can't make any mistakes and we have to handle the car well to reduce possible mechanical problems.

"In 24 hours anything can happen. Even physical fatigue can play tricks on you. We need to therefore concentrate and need to be careful throughout the whole race."
