Nicolas Prost to drive for Matech at Nurburgring
Nicolas Prost, 28, and son of 4 times Formula 1 world champion Alain Prost, will drive the Matech Ford GT1 No.6 car at the Nurburgring and for the rest of the season in the FIA GT1 World Championship. Nicolas will partner Neel Jani who debuted with the team last month at Spa. Like Neel, Nicolas has competed in both A1GP and the 24 hours of Le Mans in the LMP1 category.
Martin Bartek, Team Manager: "I'm really pleased that Nicolas is joining the team, which is now revitalised for the 2nd half of the season. We had a recent test and he was instantly on the pace with our other drivers. We now have one of the strongest driver line ups in the championship, and from our points position I'm confident of successes. With our home race only a couple of days away, it's a good feeling"
Nicolas takes over the seat of Romain Grosjean, who recently expressed the wish to drive in GP2.
