Following an exciting announcement early January confirming that Rebel Rock Racing will enter three Porsche racecars this season in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, the team founded by Grammy Award winner and music producer Jim Jonsin is ready to start the season at Daytona International Speedway for round 1 of the 2014 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC). Rebel Rock Racing gelled quickly and had a very encouraging "Roar" test days three weeks ago at Daytona International Speedway. The six team drivers are all excited and eager to debut the season on a high note.

Hired during the winter, the new crew chief Ron Mathis is the new Rebel Rock Racing crew chief. Mathis won many major races and championships and led major factory competition programs in his 30-year career. Ron Mathis will have a great responsibility on his shoulders this week but he is ready for the Challenge. Rebel Rock Racing has stepped up from one to three full season entries (two in the GS class and one in the ST class) and the goal is to get results early in the season. Rebel Rock Racing has also hired professional racers Kyle Marcelli, Brett Sandberg and Al Carter who have great expectations and ambitions for this 2014 season.

For Jim Jonsin, who started Rebel Rock Racing four years ago, the 2014 season marks a great new start since he is taking his team to the next level. Jonsin will co-drive the No. 88 Ingersoll Rand /Joe Gibbs Driven/ Oakley /Western Star/Alliance Truck Parts Rebel Racing Porsche Cayman (ST Class) with Jarett Freeman and is really happy about how his racing program got finalized during the winter. Like all his five teammates, he is also looking forward for Daytona's first official practice session to finally harvest the fruits of his hard work.

Several great new corporate sponsors joined Rebel Rock Racing including Ingersoll Rand that is back on board for their second season, Joe Gibbs Driven, Oakley and Western Star/Alliance Truck Parts. Jim Jonsin will also be able to count on his long-time friend, recording artist Pit Bull, who will be one of his closest followers and maybe the #1 team supporter this season.

One of the new sponsor is MBRP Inc. Performance Exhaust that is also co-entrant on the No. 08 MBRP Rebel Rock Racing Porsche co-driven by Kyle Marcelli and MBRP Inc. Performance Exhaust owner Martin Barkey. For over fifteen years MBRP Inc. has been delivering performance enthusiasts the most in power, the most in product quality and the most in customer responsiveness. It all began with the now famous B&B Eliminator, which soon achieved the status as the bestselling performance snowmobile silencer of all time. Starting from little more than a vision and an absolute passion for all things performance MBRP Inc. is now at the forefront of performance exhaust technology.

Following four seasons in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge where he scored multiple podium finishes, Al Carter who will co-drive the No. 7 B+ Foundation / Eagle Tech / Sideskinz Rebel Rock Racing Porsche (GS class) with "young gun" Brett Sandberg, is also ready to start the season with his new CTSCC team. Carter joined Rebel Rock Racing earlier this year and became a partner. He is definitely looking to help Jim Jonsin's effort to take the team to a competitive level quickly. Like his Rebel Rock Racing teammate Kyle Marcelli, Al Carter will also compete in the entire season of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship making 2014 a very busy season for the two Rebel Rock Racing racers.

Rebel Rock Racing is also interested to become an active community player in the IMSA CTSCC and TUSCC paddocks this season and Jim Jonsin and Al Carter have the intention to entertain the drivers, their crew and the racing fans after each key race this season starting with Daytona. A post race celebration is scheduled on Friday January 24 at 8:00 PM ET at Grind Gastropub & Kona Tiki Bar - 49 West Granada Blvd. in Ormond Beach. A portion of the proceeds of the cash bar will be donated to The B+ Foundation one of two official Rebel Rock Racing charities.
