Kinetic Ready for Miller Motorsports Park

Buford, Ga. - This weekend will mark the first running of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge presented by Michelin at the new Miller Motorsports Park located just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. Many teams in the popular Porsche series have tested at the new 4.5 mile, 24-turn road course facility to become acclimated to the new track.

Kinetic Motorsports co-owner and driver, Russell Smith, recently returned from Miller Motorsports Park after several days of testing in his Porsche GT3 Cup car in preparation for the auspicious event. The GT3 turned some excellent laps with Smith behind the wheel leading to high hopes for the race which takes place Saturday July 15.

"Miller Motorsports Park is one of the most impressive facilities that I have ever seen," Smith said. "With almost 300 garages, the track has prepared for the masses which I am quite sure will be present at the events taking place there. They have really put together a top-notch race track and I am extremely eager to get back into the Porsche this weekend and hopefully come home with a great finish."

The IMSA Cup Challenge is well into its second season in conjunction with the American Le Mans Series with entry fields approaching the upper 40s in every race this season. This, added to the excitement of the new track in Utah is sure to offer a weekend of great racing for drivers and fans alike. Tim Mayer, Chief Operating Officer of the American Le Mans Series and IMSA, is equally impressed with the course that so many competitors are anticipating.

"This is the first and largest new facility in North America for quite some time and has been created in a first class manner all around," said Mayer. "The GT3 Cup competition represents the top-end of amateur ranks in this country and deserves the opportunity to race at this facility."
