In the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge presented by Michelin, round #3, newcomer Kevin Roush, from Upland, California, is on the pole in the Wheel Enhancement Racing/AASCO Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racer. Rouch, a 41 year-old Porsche street car tuner and Porsche club racer who also prepares race cars himself, said it was a pleasure to come to the races and have someone else do all the work.
"Dennis Aase and his AASCO team of professional did a great job setting up this car, and I am very excited to be on the pole. I've seen how these races go - if I can get a jump on the start, and stay away from any incidents, I think I have the car to win," said Roush.
Second on the grid is Jay Policastro, from Latrobe, Penn, who currently leads the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge points with a third and a fourth-place finish in his Orbit Racing Porsche, while Nathan Swartzbaugh, frim La Habra Heights, CA, is third. Swartzbaugh is right behind Policastro in the points fight, with a a fourth and a sixth place finish.
The IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge will race on Sunday, July 31, at 1:15 PM PDT. Live scoring of the race is available on www.imsaracing.net, and a one-minute television summary of the race will run during the Road America American Le Mans Series broadcast on The Speed Channel on Sunday, August 21.
