Daytona Beach, FL - The TRG-Aston Martin Racing LaSalle Solutions/Royal Purple/Orion Energy Systems/PassTime USA Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 has proven that the team’s four consecutive poles to close off the 2014 season were no fluke.

The qualifying domination carried over into this year's season-opener with TRG-AMR driver James Davison capturing the pole position around the 3.81 historic roval setting a time of 1:47.2 on the charts. Daytona is the first and longest race of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship season, seeing more than 50 cars across four separate classes battle for 24 grueling hours and the coveted Rolex Daytona watch at the end.

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 that powered Davison to his impressive fifth pole has been relatively unchanged from the 2014 season with the IMSA Balance of Performance leaving the field incredibly even-matched.

This twice-round-the-clock enduro is the official start to the 2015 IMSA TUDOR United Sportscar Championship season, the top-tier of North American sportscar racing and one which will see Davison and teammate Christina Nielsen contending for the season championship. Both Nielsen and Davison are no strangers to endurance racing, having both competed in the 2014 IMSA Patron North American Endurance Cup and a history in both sports, endurance, and formula car racing. At the Rolex, they will be joined in the No. 007 by Chris Nygaard and Brandon Davis.

James Davison, Team Driver, TRG-AMR North America: “I was so pleased to be able to pull off the pole as we had a slow start this weekend and made the car better each session. The car was awesome and we got really lucky as we headed into the bus stop on the final lap just behind the Audi and he towed me nicely in the draft across the start finish. I’m incredibly fortunate to be driving for a team of this caliber, along with a big thanks to Christina for being a great teammate for the season. We’re going for the championship this year without question and this is a great way to start off the season.”
Team principal Kevin Buckler - no stranger to setting records at Daytona - was very happy with the result.

Kevin Buckler, CEO, TRG-AMR North America: “What an incredible car the guys put together and a terrific drive by James - five poles in a row! Hopefully the beginning of something really special this weekend. I’m so proud of the entire team and all the drivers. We are on our game right now and it shows. A big thanks to all our partners and our friends at LaSalle Solutions, Royal Purple, Orion Energy Systems and PassTime USA. LaSalle joined us this weekend as our brand new strategic partner for Daytona! LaSalle joined us this weekend as our brand new strategic partner for Daytona; what a great start to the season! Christina and James are such a strong pairing and will be fighting for the championship straight out of the box. Our team is ready. Our incredible Aston Martin Racing cars are ready. We are ready. It’s time to make some more history!”
