After another long series break since Sebring last March, Al Carter returns to full racing mode this week at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, California.

Like he did at Sebring, Al Carter is going to have a very busy week at Laguna Seca. He will compete in three different series throughout the week. His primary program will be the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship where Al will compete with TRG-AMR co-driving the No. 007 B+ Foundation/Jetset Magazine/Eagle Tech/Sideskinz Aston Martin Vantage V12 with teammate James Davison from Australia. Carter will also compete in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge co-driving the No. 7 B+ Foundation/Eagle Tech/Sideskinz Rebel Rock Racing Porsche with Brett Sandberg and finally he will also compete with the No. 80 Jetset Magazine/B+ Lamborghini Gallardo in the second 2014 event of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America with Mitchum Motorsports and Lamborghini Palm Beach.

“Laguna is the first race track I ever drove at a Skip Barber school, and is still my favorite track to drive. I am excited about my upcoming race weekend with TRG-AMR, Rebel Rock Racing and Lamborghini Palm Beach. My crazy self just might be racing too many cool cars this weekend. Can't wait, Zoom Zoom at Laguna!

This third round of the TUDOR Championship is important for TRG-Aston Martin Racing who will be racing at their home track this weekend. The TRG-AMR shop is located in Petaluma, California only 150 miles from Monterey. This round marks the first sprint race of the season and is a special one. The IMSA officials have decided to split the four classes that usually compose the TUDOR Championship and the GTD class cars. The two TRG-Aston Martin Vantages will race with the Prototype Challenge class cars in a two-hour race format on Sunday morning. This will be a great opportunity for Carter and Davison to show the real podium finish potential of their Aston Martin that has been showing great speed in qualifying and in the race at Daytona and Sebring.

Laguna Seca 2013 marked the debut of the TRG-Aston Martin Racing Vantage V12. The car competed in two rounds of the Rolex Series (Laguna & Lime Rock) to prepare for the 2014 season. This is not the first time that an Aston Martin race car races at Laguna Seca, the track that opened its doors 57 years ago in 1957. That year three Aston Martin DB3S were entered in the SCCA National Sports Car Championship and two of them finished 6th (Rob Carveth) and 7th (Gilbert Geitner).

Al Carter will also run with Rebel Rock Racing this week. The team will compete at Laguna Seca with four Porsche race cars (2 in GS and 2 in ST) in round 3 of the 2014 Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. Carter will share the No. 7 with Brett Sandberg and both drivers expect great things from this next race. After two races, they are ranked 7th in the championship, leading all the other Porsche teams entered in the 2014 series.

The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo will also see the return of Al Carter in the series. After competing in two rounds last year and scoring four podium finishes in a row including his first win in Kansas, Carter won the first 2014 race of the year at Sebring. Al is very excited to race the Lamborghini at Laguna Seca and hopes to finish on the podium and spray the winner’s Champagne again.
