James Davison and Aston take GTD pole for Rolex 24

Daytona Beach, FL - An Aston Martin and SRT Viper will lead the GTD field to the green flag for the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona this weekend.

Open-wheel turned sports car driver James Davison has placed his No. 007 Aston Martin on pole for the AMR team. Jeroen Bleekemolen came just a tenth and a half off the pole lap of 1:47.272, roughly three tenths off the 2014 pole speed.

"We were over a second off in practice, so my expectations were low for qualifying," admitted Davison. "Then we had to fight a bit of adversity in the pits and it went red, so it meant we only had one lap to get it done." Davison believes a toe he got off an Audi is what assisted him in achieving pole for this race.

It's an all Porsche second row with the No. 28 Konrad entry leading the combined effort of Wright Motorsports and Patrick Dempsey, displaying that iconic No. 58 red/white/blue Brumos scheme. The red flag was needed after Kuno Wittmer lost the right rear wheel on his Viper.
