Miami, FL. (November 13, 2013). The MOMO NGT Motorsport racing team announced plans today to compete full-time in the new IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship series for 2014. The familiar No. 30 red-yellow-and-black liveried MOMO car will compete in the new GT Daytona (GTD) class team for the eleven race schedule, beginning with the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

MOMO co-owner/driver Henrique Cisneros, of Caracas Venezuela, will pair with 23-year-old Kuba Giermaziak, of Piaski, Poland, for the full season racing effort. For the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Porsche driver Christina Nielsen of Denmark, will join the two, along with a fourth driver, yet to be named. Giermaziak will lead the upcoming IMSA Test Days at Sebring, Florida this weekend.

The MOMO NGT Motorsport team has received delivery of a new 470-horsepower 2014 Porsche 911 GT America (Type 991) race car for the new season. The Porsche 991 features a six-speed sequential dog-type gearbox with pneumatic paddle shift system along with many new features and advanced technology.

Henrique Cisneros, No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsport driver:

Regarding the new series and GTD class:
“The team is very excited to enter the new GTD class. It will be fun to compete against so many brands after racing exclusively with Porsches for four years. I think the balance of power will be a big challenge for IMSA and it will take the entire season to sort out. Daytona will have the usual sandbagging that everyone is used to and we really won't know how the competition stacks up until the last two hours. We will also be developing the new Porsche 991 and using live telemetry for the first time so it will be a challenge to understand the data during the beginning of the season.”

Regarding teammate Kuba Giermaziak:
“Kuba is a rock star behind the wheel. He’s always fast and consistent. We have shared many fantastic races over the years with a victory at Petit Le Mans and this years’ 24 Hours of Daytona, which we led for the majority of the race. I can't wait to see what we can do together.”

Kuba Giermaziak, No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsport driver:

Regarding being a driver for the MOMO NGT team:
“It’s absolutely an amazing feeling to be part of this team! I would already like to jump in the car. I always dreamed about driving in USA and this year it became possible. On the other hand it’s going be a very tough season, as I’m filling Sean’s (Edwards) seat to be Henrique’s teammate, so the expectations to match are very high.”

Regarding competing in the Porsche 991:
“I competed with the 991 Cup car in the whole Porsche Supercup season this year and I have to say it’s a big improvement to the 997. The car has a lot of new technology in it and I know that Porsche is constantly working on improving it. It has a paddle shift gearbox, same good and reliable engine but with a bit more power, completely new data logging system and also a lot of safety features which were not there in the previous models. I think a big question mark is not going be the car, it’s going be the Continental tires, which nobody knows at the moment.”

Ramez Wahab, NGT Motorsport Owner/No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsport Team Manager:

Regarding competing in the new USCR GTD class for 2014:
“We are very excited about the TUDOR Series. It’s a new challenge for everyone. My main concern is not necessarily the new car or even the BoP (balance of performance), since ALMS and Grand-Am officials have always done a good job at it in the past; it’s more the new series. We are kind of stepping into the unknown since there are no rules out yet. Is it going to be like a GTC class, pretty much a spec series, or do we have to kind of reinvent the wheel like the Rolex GT class, which will increase costs while running out of time?”

Regarding pairing of Henrique Cisneros and Kuba Giermaziak:
“I’m really looking forward to working with Kuba again. He is a very experienced driver and proved himself in many series including Supercup and driving with NGT. The pairing with Kuba and Henrique has always worked out very well for us, from winning Petit Le Mans to leading the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring among others. I think we have a very good driver lineup and I’m looking forward to the upcoming season.”

Regarding the goals of the upcoming test at Sebring?
“The upcoming Sebring and Daytona tests are very important for us. We are going to collect a lot of very important feedback like vehicle setup, telemetry and tire performance. We will also be testing multiple drivers to evaluate them also for different series.”

Jens Walther, president and CEO, Porsche Motorsport North America:

Regarding MOMO NGT Motorsport’s 2014 plans:
“MOMO NGT has created an impressive racing operation over the years centered on professionalism and strong customer support. Since the inception of the team, MOMO NGT has run exclusively as a Porsche customer and we are very pleased they will be racing the Porsche 911 GT America in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship in 2014. They have proven themselves on every level from track day entries to championship contenders and we look forward to their strong driver lineup of Henrique Cisneros and Kuba Giermaziak challenging for the inaugural title in the GT Daytona class next season.”

In addition to the MOMO NGT Motorsport No. 30 GTD entry in the IMSA Tudor SportsCar Championship, NGT Motorsport will continue to run a customer program in the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama.
