Sebring, Florida - Performance and speed continued for the RSR Racing team as both the 09 LinospressoUSA.com and 08 AutoMaxUSA.com Oreca FLM-09 racecars proved to be the ones to beat at the 62nd Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Powered by Fresh from Florida. Both cars spent time leading the Prototype Challenge class and were looking to finish first and second in the historic endurance event.

While fortune shined on the trio of Bruno Junqueira, Duncan Ende and David Heinemeier Hansson by bringing the 09 car home on the podium after the twelve hour spectacle, mis-fortune fell upon their sister car. A devastating collision with another PC car ended the day for Alex Tagliani, Chris Cumming and Rusty Mitchell on lap 125.

The LinospressoUSA.com team never missed a beat from the drop of the green flag to taking the checkered flag. The drivers and team worked flawlessly together and were unmistakably disappointed by finishing second by less than 2.5 seconds after twelve hours and over 1000 miles in the Florida sun.

Wrong place wrong time would be an appropriate headline for the number 08 AutoMaxUSA.com Oreca FLM-09. After performing nearly flawlessly for the first half of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, Tagliani was collected by a single car spin of another Prototype Challenge competitor. The unfortunate incident ended the day early for Tagliani, Cumming and Mitchell. Tagliani visited the infield care center and was treated and released with a sprained wrist.

Bruno Junqueira on finishing second

I have mixed feelings, we had a big fight with Colin Braun. He drove very well and I could go around him. I had a couple chances, had the speed but very close. I am very disappointed to be so close for the win but pleased for RSR team to finish the car in one piece. We needed a good result after Daytona so I think the team did a good job. Duncan and David drove very well, I am happy with the results.

Alex Tagliani on the performance of race day

I think we had as good of a shot as anybody out there. The 09 and 08 from team RSR were really strong today. I thought is would come down to a battle of Bruno and myself. Our teammates were doing really good. Chris ran really fast in the 59's, it looked really promising. We were excited about our chances. These types of races you need to be there at the end and it was a very unfortunate incident that took us out of the race

Rusty Mitchell on missing the chance to drive at Sebring

Not being able to drive the car today is really disappointing knowing how good of a car the team gave us. We were one of the cars to beat today, definitely a top-three for sure. Unfortunately, a racing incident left us on the sideline without an opportunity to compete in the twelve-hour event.

David Heinemeier Hansson on car performance after first stint

We absolutely have the car to win. The car is wonderful. That was probably the most fun I've had in a stint in a long time. The car is excellent. I had a phenomenal battle with the Core car. I think the car is solid and will take us to the end but it will be a close battle to the end.

Duncan Ende after last stint

The car has been really solid. We had a little bit of an issue with tire pressure issue in my first big stint today but we seemed to have solved that. The car has been as good as I have had here as Sebring. I think we're going to hold together, hopefully. We just need to pound around until it time to race at the end.

Chris Cumming on not finishing the race at Sebring

It is disappointing. Especially considering we a good racecar, we were in great position. I think we need to take some positive out of it which is we were one of the teams to beat this weekend. We proved it; we were doing a good job. We were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the victim of a bad move someone else. I have to thank the crew, Jeff and Paul for coming up with a good car for the race.
