LOS ANGELES, CA (November 21, 2013) – Hot on the heels of their 2013 Rolex GT championship victory, Scuderia Corsa Team principal Giacomo Mattioli announced, “I am pleased to share with you that we will enter two cars in the Tudor United Sportscar Championship in the GTD class next year. Returning behind the wheel of the #63 Ferrari 458 Italia will be Alessandro Balzan, Grand-AM’s final GT champion, with Jeff Westphal. I am also pleased to welcome back Dr. Rod Randall and Ken Wilden in the #64. Having both cars in the full season is part of the continued growth of the Scuderia Corsa programs”.

Of his return to the team Rod Randall said, "After driving with Scuderia Corsa last year at Indy in the beautiful Ferrari 458, Ken [Wilden] and I put a plan in place in order to move in to GTD for 2014. It was clear that Scuderia Corsa was a team that was well organized, very competitive, did what they said they would do and went beyond our expectations. Giacomo knows how to build a winning team and we are looking forward to a competitive year."

Ken Wilden continued, “I'm very happy to be joining such a great championship team. The Ferrari 458 is an awesome car. Scuderia Corsa has done an exceptional job in the series and we look forward to the year ahead. Rod and I both felt this was a great opportunity after running with the Team at Indy last year; it was such a great fit and an easy decision. We are looking forward to a very competitive season."

As the team wrapped up preseason testing at Daytona on Wednesday in P1, Technical Director Roberto Amorosi said, “we are growing the Team and I am delighted to have two veterans from very successful programs joining us, Joseph La Joie as race engineer and William Mendez as crew chief. They bring many years of experience at the highest level of racing. The competition in the GTD class will be fierce and expanding our team with some of the best will be important to our success next season. I would also like to congratulate Ken Lau, our race engineer who has been with the team since we started. Ken has earned the added responsibility of becoming Team Manager of the Ferrari Challenge program. The program is in good hands with Ken.”

Next on the racing calendar will be the highly anticipated ROAR BEFORE THE ROLEX 24, from January 3-5, 2014 where teams will have one final opportunity to test and prepare their cars for the legendary Rolex 24 At Daytona taking place on January 25-26, 2014. This will mark the beginning of the newly formed Tudor United Sportscar Championship series, the entity created from the 2013 merger of Grand-AM and ALMS.
