Sebring 12h: Hr 9 – Action Express steals lead back from Taylors

Alex Lynn controlled his racer instincts well while negotiating nasty knots of GT traffic, but finally a wayward Audi R8 left him second guessing and heading to the grass, costing him momentum and the lead.

At the end of that stint, the two leading Cadillacs stopped at the same time again, Jordan Taylor took over from Lynn, but Albuquerque left the pits with a handy five-second lead.

Action Express's Michael Conway and #31 co-drivers have now put around 75seconds between themselves and the former third-placed JDC/Miller Oreca, so for now it appears the Sebring 12 Hours is heading for a Cadillac 1-2-3.

Prototype Challenge’s leaders continue to run in fifth overall, Patricio O’Ward running the Performance Tech car two laps ahead of Sean Rayhall in the Starworks machine.

GT Le Mans  

It’s Dirk Muller’s #66 Ford GT eight seconds ahead of a still-torrid battle for GTLM honors with Toni Vilander pulling some great maneuvers to get the Ferrari 488 into second.

Vilander took full advantage of Ryan Briscoe banging doors with Jan Magnussen’s Corvette to pass the pair of them, and then also pressed Billy Johnson into a mistake in the #68 Ford.

Johnson then also conceded third place to teammate Briscoe.

Frederic Makowiecki, whose Porsche had led most of the hour having pitted just before the previous yellow, is now running sixth having finally had to pit again.

The 911 remains within half a minute of the class lead though, but is now totally off-sequence with rivals.

GT Daytona

Mario Farnbacher retains his lead for Riley Motorsports in the Mercedes AMG GT3, chased by Matteo Cresoni in the Scuderia Corsa Ferrari.

But Mirko Bortolotti’s Grasser Lamborghini is back in sixth following a stop for him to replace Bryan Sellers, and so it’s Madison Snow in the #48 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini who is now third.
