With just one round left before the 2017 season concludes, it becomes all the more important for the riders to do their best and amass as many points as possible.
However, with rain wreaking havoc at the Madras Motor Race Track, the short loop of 2.1Km will be used for the races and the number of laps will be increased.
The action in Chennai this weekend will see Rajiv Sethu (Honda Ten10 Racing) trying to defend his championship lead.
The 105 points Chennai's Sethu has can be easily surpassed by his teammate Mathana Kumar (Trichy), who has 91 in his kitty. Also challenging the top two for the championship lead are TVS Racing riders from Chennai, Harry Sylvester and Jagan Kumar, with 75 and 72 points respectively.
The fourth round of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship will also see a fight for the top spot in the Super Sport Indian 300-400cc race.
Gusto Racing India's Amarnath Menon, from Kerala, is at the top of the table with 125 points, while Team Rockers Racing's Vivek Pillai is second on 87. Motorev India's Deepak Ravikumar (Chennai) is third on 66.
The Pro Stock Upto 165cc has Honda Ten10 Racing's B Aravind leading the tally with 108 points, while Motorev India's Aravind Ganesh has 90.
The weekend will also see the Honda (CBR 250 and CBR 150) and TVS (Apache RTR 200 Open and Novice) One-make Championships and along that will be support races for girls.
In the Girls category, Apex Racing Academy's Aishwarya Pissay (Bangalore) leads with 65 points, just ahead of Kalyani Potekar (Indore, Team Speed Up Racing), who has 51 while her teammate Ryhana Bee has 43 and Shruti Nagarajan has 42.
