The third round of the JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship will see Chennai's Prasad trying to add to his points tally of 64 as against Reddy (Hyderabad), who is just one point behind.
It was a clean sweep by Prasad in the first round, but a retirement in the second round did not help his cause. Reddy, on his toes all the time, took two wins and two second positions in the round that was held at the Kari Motor Speedway as well.
The Euro JK 17 category is not just going to see competition from the two. Nayan Chatterjee is on 54 points and looks menacing as well. He scored one win and took a second place in the second round and will be raring to go this weekend as well.
While the main contenders will be Prasad, Reddy and Chatterjee, one can never rule out the likes of Chennai's Vikash Anand or Bangalore's Akash Gowda. On a good day, the could very well give the senior drivers a good run for their money.
The other highlight of the weekend will be the Suzuki Gixxer Cup 2017 championship races. As of now, there seems to be little to stop Chennai's Joseph Matthew, who is at the top of the championship standings with 40 points from two rounds.
Aizawl's Lalmawipuia is second in the points standings with 23. The fight for the second place gets interesting with Mumbai's Sanjeev Mhatre being on 22 points, while another Aizawl rider, Malsawmdawngliana, is on 21.
To give these riders a tough time is Ahmedabad's Sachin Chaudhary, who is on 17 points.
The other races this weekend are the LGB Formula 4 and two-wheeler Red Bull Rookie Cup.
The Rookie Cup is significant as the rider to represent India in the Road to MotoGP in Spain will be identified after this round.
