Starting second on the grid for the last race of the day in the second round of the JK Tyre National Racing Championship, Capo had to stave off a challenge from Anindith Reddy for the win.

Vikash Anand finished third.

Starting with the reverse grid, Brayan Perera was on pole with Capo second, Vikash Anand third and Nayan Chatterjee fourth.

Perera moved into the lead but Capo and Anand were all over him till the first corner. After half a lap, Perera began to consolidate his position.

Perera was ahead with Capo and Anand bunched up together behind and fighting for the second spot.

Meanwhile, from behind, third race winner Reddy was already making up places.

But at the front, Capo was already all over the Anand's tail.

Then, Capo suddenly shot into the lead with Anand second, Perera third and Reddy in the fourth spot.

Within half a lap, Reddy had moved up a place to third. But at the front Capo was trying to keep Anand at bay.

After five laps, Anand went wide near the start-finish straight and that allowed Reddy to catch up with the second-placed Anand.

At the end of the sixth lap, Reddy overtook Anand to move into the second place. However, Capo was, at this time, too far ahead for Reddy to catch.

Things went on like that and it was Capo, Reddy and Anand in the top three. But Reddy was definitely trying something. There were a couple of instances when he got really close but Capo shut the door on him.

The 11th lap was the closest; Reddy got to Capo, but the latter hung on to win the race by a pretty comfortable margin in the end.
