The Hyderabad driver won in style at the Kari Motor Speedway. He was penalised for a false start, but it did not affect the result since he had won by a massive margin in the JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship.

Bangalore’s Akash Gowda finished second, ahead of Ashwin Datta, Vikash Anand and Nirmal Uma Shankar in that order.

Reddy finished fifth in Race 1. He was penalised for overtaking under the yellow flag and ended up fifth, but that may have turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

With the reverse grid coming into force for Race 2, the Hyderabad driver was on pole position. Uma Shankar was second, while Datta was third, with Chatterjee and Gowda taking up the next two places on the grid.

In the very first lap, Reddy gave an indication of things to come. An aggressive move saw him take the lead and going ahead of Uma Shankar. Datta managed to maintain his third place. Chatterjee was fourth and Gowda was running fifth.

But as soon as Reddy went ahead, he began to put up a heady pace and was way ahead of the others almost in an instant.

While Reddy was in a league of his own and trying to give it all, there was stiff competition behind. Uma Shankar, Datta, Gowda and Chatterjee were all locked in a tight battle.

Soon, Gowda and Datta were battling for the second spot.

The bad weekend continued for Chennai’s Vishnu Prasad. Running in seventh position, he went off the track in the seventh lap and that was another sad story for him.

There was a battle between Datta and Gowda, but the latter managed to take up the third position. All the while, Reddy was maintaining a lead distance of over nine seconds.

From there, it was an easy matter of just staying put and he won the race easily.
