As part of the new vision by the promoter, the season will now begin in late June, with Chennai again opening up the proceedings.

This will be followed by the Coimbatore round on August 9-11, before the championship will head to a yet-to-be announced location in North India in the month of September.

Kochi will play host to the fourth round on November 3-11, while Bangalore will hold the penultimate event on November 22-24.

The season will conclude in Chikmagalur, by far the most prestigious event on the calendar, on December 13-15.

To give a glimpse of what’s in store in the new era for INRC, Champions Club held a non-championship, curtain-raiser event in Bangalore last month. The rally was won by Race Concepts’ Younas Ilyas in a Mitsubishi Cedia.

The 2019 INRC reason will also see the reported return of Team JK Tyre, bringing back the glory days of the series.

JK Tyre will face stiff competition from the factory Mahindra team, customer Volkswagen Polo entries as well from a range of other privateers.
