Telitz thrashes his rivals for second time in one day
Aaron Telitz drove it like he stole it but had no need, comfortably eclipsing all his Pro Mazda rivals and winning by over 10 seconds to score his third victory of the season.

The Team Pelfrey driver was unthreatened at the start and the two restarts and his fastest lap of the race was almost a second faster than anyone else’s. It was that kinda day.
But behind him there were battles throughout the race. On the opening lap, Juncos Racing’s Nicolas Dapero was passed by teammate Will Owen and Pelfrey’s championship leader Pato O’Ward. There was then a full-course yellow when a National Class driver spun, and on lap 2 Nico Jamin of Cape Motorsports grabbed second from another Juncos car, that of front-row starter Jake Parsons.
Three laps later, Parsons spun to the back of the field, causing one more lap of full-course yellow, but thereafter the 10-car field were flat-out to the finish.
As Telitz scorched away into the distance, Jamin was fully occupied with holding off O’Ward, with Dapero, Owen and Pelfrey’s third car, TJ Fischer, in hot pursuit.
The status quo shifted on lap 9, when Owen passed Dapero for fourth… and he wasn’t stopping there. Suddenly O’Ward stopped attacking Jamin behind and instead had to defend from Owen.
His quest was successful until two laps from home when Owen calmly drove around the outside of O’Ward at Turn 5.
That meant it was the first time all season O’Ward has failed to finish on the podium, and over the course of the weekend he has seen his 55-point lead over Telitz cut to 28.
