I don’t know if there is reason to say that last Friday night IndyCar’s new-for-2020 aeroscreen saved Rinus VeeKay’s life, because no one can be sure that it’s true. I recall several accidents in open-wheel racing where I feared I was watching a driver suffering severe head trauma and they have escaped with nothing worse than a headache.
