INDIANAPOLIS (June 14, 2003) -- The culmination of a long season of CART Champ Car racing is always a time for celebration as new champions are crowned and the accomplishments of the year are lauded.

Although not even half over, the 2003 Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford has already given the motorsports world a number of reasons for celebration, with the early-season dominance of Paul Tracy, the emergence of rookie Sebastien Bourdais and the first career victory for Michel Jourdain.

These and the victories to come will all be celebrated Tuesday, November 4 in Palm Springs as CART Champ Car announced today that it will hold its annual Awards Ceremony and Business Meetings at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa in Indian Wells, California. The ceremony will be held two days after the season-ending 500-mile race at California Speedway, leaving Monday open for a possible rain date for the turbocharged CART Champ Cars.

The event will see the awarding of the Vanderbilt Cup to the 2003 Champ Car World Series champion along with honors given to the series top manufacturers and rookies as well as various other awards. There will also be various business meetings conducted in conjunction with the awards ceremony as the series prepares for the 2004 season.
