On a Roll, Dominguez Plans a Podium at Laguna Seca

Mr. Consistency:Mario's results this season have shattered all of his previous Champ Car statistics. He has started in the top-five in seven of ten races and in the top-ten in eight of the ten races completed. He has led three races this season, finished in the top-five in five races and the top-ten in eight races. His average starting position is fifth and his average finishing position is seventh. Mario is currently ranked sixth in the Champ Car World Series point's standings with 175 points, just six points shy of the top-five.

6,5,4,3:If numbers mean anything, Dominguez should finish second at Laguna and win in Las Vegas. He finished sixth in Vancouver, fifth at Road America, fourth in Denver and earned his seventh podium nearly two weeks ago in Montreal.

Party in the Streets with HVM and Mario:Herdez Competition and their drivers Mario Dominguez and Ryan Hunter-Reay will participate in the Bridgestone Street Party Friday night on Alvarado Street in downtown Monterey. The team will have a racecar on hand for fans to test their Bridgestone Champ Car tire-changing skills as well as a booth with free Herdez Salsa samples and giveaways. Both Mario and Ryan will be signing autographs and answering questions at the booth from 8:00 -- 8:30.

Vote for Mario: Mario was recently nominated for the Fox Premios "Outstanding Latin American Motorsports Driver" award. The category includes four other nominees, including Juan Pablo Montoya. There are twelve categories in which Latin American athletes and personalities will be honored for their achievements in their respective sports as well as their contributions to the community. A hero in his native land on and off the track, Mario spends as much time as possible at his home in Mexico City. Dominguez set a Champ Car record earlier this season when he earned the longest consecutive run (8) of top-ten finishes by a Mexican driver. Mario on Laguna Seca:"The event at Laguna Seca is a special one for Champ Car. We have been racing there a very long time and a lot of history has been made at that track. It is a wonderful racetrack with a lot of elevation changes and it is very fast, everything happens very quickly at Laguna Seca, there is no room for error. Of course the corkscrew is incredible for the driver and the fans alike, but I really enjoy the infield or some call it the new section, the turn two, three and four sweeper. It is really important to get a very good exit off of the turn one hairpin to make the most out of the infield section. It's a technical track that I enjoy to drive. Our results have been consistently getting better and better and I think we are due for a victory, we have been knocking on the door, it is time for us to make it happen."
