HVM Rookies Ready for the Tecate Telmex Grand Prix

Bienvenido Bjorn: The Tecate Telmex Monterrey Grand Prix will be Wirdheim's first visit to Mexico.

Race of Champions: Champ Car will return to Monterrey this weekend with one of their most accomplished and talented field of drivers in the history of the series. The field boasts four Champ Car Champions as well as the four most recent FIA F3000 Champions. Wirdheim is one of them; he dominated the prestigious F3000 Championship and earned the title in 2003. He is joined by F3000 Champions, Bruno Junqueira (2000). Justin Wilson (2001) and Sebastien Bourdais (2002).

Road Course Miles: Bjorn has spent more time driving road courses in the last year than likely anyone else in the Champ Car field. He worked for the Jaguar Formula One team as their test and reserve driver in 2004. He is ready to put his testing experience to work on the Fundidora Park road course this weekend.

Bjorn Wirdheim: "I have never been to Mexico before, so I am especially looking forward to this event. The only chance for me to get information about the circuit before I arrive there is through my engineers and by watching video footage from last year. That being said; my team had very good cars there last year, they are a great resource for me and I am flying in early to spend as much time studying the track as I possibly can. I am excited to drive the Champ Car on a proper road course. I spent a lot of time testing on these types of tracks last year, I have many miles under my belt, it will be different with the Champ Car but of course it will still be useful. I've always wanted to visit Mexico, I love Mexican food and I can't wait to get the weekend started."

Ronnie Bremer: Monterrey Last Year: Bremer competed at the Tecate Telmex Monterrey Grand Prix last year while driving in the Toyota Atlantic Series. He started the race 10th and charged through the field to finish fourth.

Race Leader: Bremer became the first driver in two years to lead laps in his Champ Car Series debut. Bremer's first Champ Car race was outstanding, he ran inside the top-ten throughout the weekend, he finished seventh and led a few laps along the way.

Top-Five Finisher: Bremer is used to running up front. He finished in the top-five in eight of 12 Atlantic events last year.

Ronnie Bremer: "The track is nice I like the layout, there is not much grip but that will get better through the weekend. It would be great to finish on the podium, it is a high goal, but I always have high goals. I think if I can finish on the podium it my second race, it would be pretty good. I know the team has a strong car, so a podium is possible if everything goes right."
