Gateway Motorsports Park's 2018 Bommarito Automotive 500 will be held on the last Saturday of August, and the track owners have vowed to upgrade its facilities following the event’s huge popularity last month.

This year’s edition of the race was the first IndyCar event held on the 1.25-mile oval since 2003, and it’s reported that up to 40,000 fans were in attendance.

For the 2018 race, to be held on Saturday Aug. 25, the organizers are bringing the start time forward one hour (7pm Central time), and will also introduce:

  •   A large display and exhibitions of vintage Indy cars in conjunction with the Vintage Indy Registry.
  •   More pre-event and post-race live entertainment.
  •   Expanded parking and more roadways entering and exiting the parking areas.
  •   Expanded concession stands on the midway and in the infield.

Ticket renewals, which can be secured with only a $10 down payment, will start October 16, while they will go on sale to the general public on November 13. Those who purchase tickets before December 15 will receive a free Coors Light Pole Night (Friday, Aug. 24) ticket, and special advance ticket pricing will apply up to August 11, 2018.
