How Dixon won his sixth IndyCar title, in his own words

Chip Ganassi Racing’s newly crowned six-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon takes us round by round through his remarkable season. David Malsher-Lopez listens.

Once Scott Dixon nailed the first three wins of this strange season that would ultimately run from June through to late October, who would have thought he’d score just one more win? His was an odd-shaped results tally in a necessarily peculiarly-shaped season.

Yet no one, not even prime championship contender Josef Newgarden, truly expected a man who had won five titles before to relinquish all of the 117-point lead he’d built up after the first race of the Gateway double-header. That’s not Dixon’s way, it’s not Chip Ganassi Racing’s way.
