Moving the start of the Indianapolis 500 to noon local time put an end to drivers doing double duty on Sunday at Indianapolis and Charlotte but one driver is keeping busy competing in five races in eight days. Jay Drake will compete in the Freedom 100 at the Speedway on Friday, May 27. His odyssey was to start on Friday May 20 at quarter-mile track at Bloomington, Ind. but rain forced that event to cancel. Drake will kick off his busy week on Saturday night, May 21, driving a 410 sprint car on the dirt at Lincoln Park Speedway. On Wednesday, Drake heads to Anderson Speedway to compete on the asphalt in a sprint car. The following day is a full day of practice at the Speedway in preparation for Friday's Freedom 100. After competing in the Freedom 100, Drake travels cross town to compete in the USAC Silver Crown Series on the one-mile dirt track at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. On Sunday he's back in the sprint car on the high banks of Eldora Speedway in Ohio. Despite a schedule with five races in eight days, Drake has yet to rule out USAC Midget races on Thursday at the Speedrome and Saturday at the Indianapolis Raceway Park.
